This Obese Woman Lost 186 Pounds In One Year Only To Face Another Hurdle: Apron Skin!

Kayla Butcher has had one tough road to losing weight. The 24-year-old Canadian woman was so obese that she had to undergo a gastric bypass surgery to lose weight. She lost 186 pounds but was left with one more hurdle to cross: Apron Skin.

She Struggled With Weight Her Entire Life.

She has been struggling with her weight since her childhood. She didn’t have any restrictions on her access to junk food. She could eat anything she liked.
She Was Diagnosed With Depression.

At the age of 14, she was diagnosed with depression. And instead of getting help. She turned to food for comfort.

Even though she ran track and played softball among other sports. She started gaining weight.
Things Got Worse After She Moved Out.

At the age of 16, she moved out to a new city to start college. Soon she was unable to play a sport due to her excessive weight. She weighed around 145 pounds during that period.
It Took Her A While To Realise That Being An Obese Woman Wasn’t What She Deserves.

It took Kayla 3 years to realize that obesity was running her life. She was failing classes and becoming more depressed which in turn was making her more obese. That’s when she decided to change. 
Kayla Decided To Have A Gastric Bypass Surgery To Lose  Weight.

She crossed one hurdle only to be greeted by the next hurdle which was a layer of excessive apron skin.
Kayla Admits That She Is More Conscious About Her Appearance Than Ever.

And she has good reasons for it. She needs to lose all that excessive apron skin.
Fortunately, People Have Started Helping Her.

She created a GoFundMe page which has raised more than $3,500 towards her $10,000 goal so that she can have the surgery to remove all that apron skin.
From Being An Obese To A Slim Woman. Kayla Has Come A Long Way.

She described her journey as “It’s like being released from the chains that are keeping me as the obese woman that I was,” she said. “I am a butterfly wrapped in a cocoon and I am ready to spread my wings and fly.”
